Your church reads the church covenant aloud before taking communion. Why?	Listen:
Give us a 60 second overview of how you lead the church in taking communion. What does it mean to fence the table? Why is it important? How do you fence the table? Why do you do it like that?
How do you conduct business meetings?	Listen:
What are the kinds of issues you handle and don’t handle in business meetings? How do you prepare to conduct a business meeting? What are some ways to avoid the cantankerousness that so commonly characterizes many church business meetings?
How do you develop a budget?	Listen:
Give us a 60 second overview of the budget development process at CHBC. Are certain parts of the budget more important than others for the pastor to champion? If so, which ones are they? How do you encourage the congregation to participate in the ratification of the budget?
How do you revise a constitution?	Listen:
Give us a 60 second overview of the constitutional revision process at CHBC. Would you recommend appointing a temporary constitution committee to spearhead the effort? Why (not)? What kinds of issues will a good constitution address? What are some mistakes to avoid in the revision process?
How do you conduct elders' meetings?	Listen:
What do you do in elders’ meetings? What makes for gracious and productive elders meetings? Should the pastor view himself simply as one of the elders in these meetings? As subordinate to the other elders? As having authority over the other elders? When you were looking for an associate pastor, what kind of man were you looking for? Why?
How do you appoint new elders?	Listen:
What is the elder's role in the appointment of new elders? What is the congregation's role in the appointment of new elders? Are nominating committees a good thing or a bad thing when it comes to nominating new elders? Before you had elders, how did you appoint the first ones? Would you advise a new pastor to nominate his own elders?
How do you choose associate staff?	Listen:
What positions did you look to fill first, and why? Would you advise younger pastors to look for a pastoral assistant before an associate pastor? When you were looking for an associate pastor, what kind of man were you looking for? Why?
How do you remove inactive members?	Listen:
Why are you so hard on inactive members? Is removing members something that you do as the pastor or do you do it with other leaders? How is the congregation involved in removing members? Do you think it is important to have plurality in the decision to remove members from the church? What does it mean to remove a member?
